O jogo 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' conquistou o prêmio de melhor game do ano no The Game Awards 2017, considerado pelo jogadores o 'Oscar dos Games'. Além disso, Zelda também venceu nas categorias 'Melhor direção' e 'Melhor jogo de ação e aventura'. O evento aconteceu nesta quinta-feira (7), em Los Angeles, nos Estados Unidos.

O game desbancou jogos de peso para conquistar o título, sendo esses jogos: 'Super Mario Odyssey', 'PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds', 'Persona 5' e 'Horizon Zero Dawn'. O 'The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild' já havia vencido outros 12 prêmios em 2016: Melhores da E3, da IGN (Melhor Jogo de Aventura, Melhor jogo para Wii U e Jogo do Show), Melhores da E3, do Destructoid (Melhor Jogo de Ação/Aventura, Melhor da Apresentação, Melhor Jogo para Wii U), Game Critics Awards (Melhor Jogo de Ação/Aventura, Melhor Jogo de Console, Melhor da Apresentação), Gamescom 2016 (Gamescom 2016 e Melhor Jogo para Wii U) e The Game Awards 2016 (Jogo Mais Esperado).
Entre outros destaques que foram premiados no The Game Awards 2017 estão 'Cuphead' e 'Hellblade: Senua's Sacrifice'. O game 'Overwatch', que já havia vencido em 2016, conquistou mais dois prêmios: Melhor jogo de eSports e Melhor jogo em andamento.
